Seminar on Career in JAVA
A seminar was arranged for CE and IT first year students on “Career in JAVA” on 29 Jan 2019. The resource person was Mr. Rajiv Gupta (Sun certified Personal & Senior software developer). He briefed the students about the current need, market trends and career opportunities in JAVA.

An Orientation Program on “AMCAT Employability Assessment test” was held for FE students on 11 Jan 2019 for EXTC, CE and PPT branch. The resource person Mr. Ankur Srivastava briefed the students about benefit of amcat score and informed them about the modules being offered by amcat.

The speaker for the session was Mr. Prashant Jade who is the Application Manager with Emerging Graphics India Pvt. Ltd. which is located in Vashi, Navi Mumbai,(India). The speaker discussed on different issues like Employment opportunities, Challenges in the field of Printing and Packaging Technology as well as about the upcoming trends in the market.

A new batch of aspiring engineers with innovative minds, promising attitudes with millions of dreams walked in through the doors of SIES GST on 31st July 2018 to commence a fresh chapter in their lives. A 5 day induction programme was organized by the faculty and the council to welcome the FEs to the institute under the guidelines of AICTE.

launchSDP seminar on “Art of writing an Application” for FE
OBJECTIVE Many organizations survive largely on the strength of their proposal and the success of grant applications so it is essential to write them in a way that grabs attention. A well written application can be a powerful way of making the right first impression and setting you apart from other applicants. SESSION The department of Humanities and applied sciences conducted a student development program(SDP) titled “The Art of Writing applications” for first year Engineering students on 17 march 2018 at 9.30 Am. The main objective of this student development program was to develop students’ writing skills in general and business letter writing in particular. It was conducted by Dr.Ramkishan Bhise and Dr.Vijay Songire. Around forty students actively participated in this seminar. FFEDBACK The event had an overwhelming response from first year students of all branches.

OBJECTIVE The purpose of the seminar was to bring together all the students who face difficulties in tracing of curve in Cartesian and Polar form. SESSION SDP was conducted by H & AS department for first year students on the topic “ Tracing a Curve”. Change of coordinate system from Cartesian to polar was discussed in the class. This seminar was very useful for weaker students to strengthen their knowledge about curve tracing. Around forty students actively participated in the seminar. The event had an overwhelming response from first year students of all branches.
launchTeam Building” for FE
OBJECTIVE Team bonding activities improve workplace projects that involve teamwork. After completing team building activities together, students can understand each other's strengths, weaknesses and interests. This helps students work even better together on future progress vital to a company. SESSION SDP was conducted by H & AS department for first year students on the topic team building. First, students were briefed about importance of soft skills what is expected from them when they join an industry. Aspects of soft skills were also told them in order to make them aware of it. Then team building activities were conducted for all the participants. First was “Let us dress”, where the students were given newspaper and stapler. And were supposed to dress one of their team member with the help of the material provided. Second activity was to check the compatibility of the team members with each other. After the activity various aspects of team building was told to the students by correlating it with the activity done. Around forty students actively participated in the seminar. launchSDP on “Stress Management” for FE
OBJECTIVE The main objective of the Students Development Programme was to promote values and nurturing culture that facilitates academic atmosphere and competency development. Stress management seminar was held to assist the students to identify the causes of their stress and provide them with practical tools and training to look up at those causes in order to avoid, reduce and manage the stress. SESSION : The event was organized by H& AS department on Feb 22 & 23, 2018. Both the sessions were for the first year engineering students with a total strength of 150 students. Mr. Vidhu Sharma, a freelance Consultant associated with Chinmaya Mission was the speaker for the event. He is a qualified trainer and coach with an experience of 22 years. He has been guiding people in sustainable organization development, developing leaders and coaching young professionals. Following are some of his thought provoking speaches Building Personal Credibility” at LNML MILS. ❖ “Excellence in people practices in Digital economy” at 2017 NMIMS Conference. ❖ “People Development Framework” at Marcus Evans HR Conference, China. The session started with a welcome speach by our student Mr. Chaitanya, also the Navi Mumbai Secretary for Chinmaya Mission. He explained the importance of the mission and highlighted the SMART workshop events. Then the speaker Mr. Vidhu Sharma explained the ways of managing stress to the youngsters through a youth friendly method of acronyms. Both the sessions were lively with great enthusiasm among the students. Videos were shown by the speaker to highlight the extreme effects of negative thoughts and the usage of negative words. Two questionnaires were distributed among the students. They were given tips and techniques based on the assessments concluded from the survey. Students were inspired and are willing to have similar sessions in the future. The teachers were also impressed. The speaker concluded the session by explaining the methods to overcome stress. Later, a voluteer Ms. Vaidehi spoke about Chinmaya Yuva Kendra that aims to empower youth with the vision, values and dynamism for success in all fields. Finally the session ended with a vote of thanks by our student Mr. Sahaj Shukla, who is a part of Chinmaya mission. launch“Solar Cell” for FE students
The event was organized by Humanities and Applied Science department on 3-5 October 2017 for one hour. Each session had around 120 students of first year. Prof. Senthilkumar, Assistant Professor of EXTC department was the speaker for the event. He discussed the importance of renewable sources and the causes and impacts for the depletion of renewable sources. Later, he had discussed the principle, working and applications of photovoltaic cell and flat plate collector. After the seminar, all the students along with the faculties and Prof. Senthil kumar had visited solar panel site which is on the terrace of the SIES management campus. Summary: Student felt the seminar very interesting and effective.
